Ceramicode

Extreme Temperature Identification

Introduction

The Infosight ® CeramiCode™ high temperature tag is a ceramic chip bearing a fired ceramic barcode. The basic marking technology is taught in our Patent US 6518542 . After laser marking , the chip and indicia are fired . Sequential Marking and firing can be done in our plant. Alternatively laser marking on pre-coated chips can be done at the customer's site. Such site marking will survive high temperatures but requires firing /glazing temperatures ( approximately 1200 º F) to maximize the marking's abrasion resistance.

The use of a (white) ceramic chip base means that there will be no contrast degradation (eg. oxidation) after long term immersion at high temperature. The indicia is a glaze containing a high temperature black frit. Laser marking is done as a negative image.
